Natica Cowl Pattern


I designed this pattern to celebrate Unravel 2019 as a collaboration with the Farnham Maltings and Irish Artisan Yarn.

The Natica Cowl is knitted in the round and then joined end to end to form a double layer of warm, silky texture. Two sections, joined by a lateral braid, repeat along the cowl making a long loop that twists around the neck twice.

Irish Artisan Yarns 

4 ply 70% Baby Alpaca, 30% Silk

100g - 400m

Colour A: 1 Skein Natural

Colour B: 1 Skein Mizen-Head


26 Sts and 35 rnds over 10cm (4”) after blocking. 

Knitted in the round with 3.25mm needles in stockinette.


3.25mm circular needles for knitting in the round

1 stitch marker

3mm crochet hook


One Size. 

120cm length, joined into a circle. 40cm tube circumference.

Once the sections have been established more or fewer can be put together to customise the length of this cowl.  It is designed to have 8 sections that totals 120cm in length.
